He spent time with me on the phone trying to understand exactly what the problems were and possible solutions.  He did offer to come take a look and see what we could find but recommended a certified GE repair specialist because of the issues.  Either way he spent time trying to help me over the phone and wouldn’t let me pay him for his time.  This is rare nowadays and I appreciate that he wanted to help.
